Obituary of MaryAnn Sama
MaryAnn Sama passed away on May 21, 2026. She was born in Sant'Andrea Ionio, Calabria, Italy. At the age of 11, she immigrated with her family to the United States. She first lived in Brookly, then Queens, and finally settled in North Merrick.
MaryAnn was the first child of Annemarie & Andrew Cosentino. She was a fantastic cook and an even better baker, keeping alive the delicacies and traditions of her hometown in Italy. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends, always sharing her talent and warm hospitality.
She was the loving wife of Frank Sama, who predeceased her in 2005. MaryAnn will be forever missed by her children, Antoinette (Toni) Mason (Richard) and Annemarie Bianco (Dominic); her grandchildren, Stacy Pekarik (John), Kimberly McLaughlin (Neal), Marissa Wych (Wally), and James Bianco (Megan); and her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Braydan Pekarik, Teagan McLaughlin, Emily and Meredith Wych, and Kieran (Cass) Bianco.
She was truly a blessing to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Donations in her name to the Cure of Ars Restoration Fund will be appreciated.
