Obituary
Obituary of Robert John Carnevale
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert John Carnevale was born on January 3, 1939 to Vincenzo and Rose-Marie Carnevale in
Brooklyn, New York. He passed away peacefully with his daughter Debbie by his side on March
23, 2023. Bob, as he was better known to his family and friends, lived his entire life in New
York. A workaholic who would never sit still, he worked as a chauffeur/body guard for 40 years,
never fully retiring. He had many hobbies that kept him busy, like gardening or fixing up things.
He was a caring and loving father who made sure his daughter never went without. Bob treated
everyone like family and would give you the shirt off his back. Bob also took pride in being a
grandfather, or "papa," going as far as getting on the ground to play and make them laugh when
the kids were babies, and when they grew up he was there for all their major milestones. In later
years, he liked to watch TV, watching crime dramas, shopping channels, or Spanish channels
(even though he did not speak Spanish). He is survived by daughters Debbie Carnevale-McGrath
(Charlie), Linda Penna (Alberto), Liana Patti (Phil), Jacqueline Cecere, Victoria Cecere, Emily
Cecere, grandsons Anthony Carnevale (Dawn), Robert McGrath and Charlie McGrath (Brandi),
Vinny Penna, Frankie Penna, Joey Penna and Anothony , (only) granddaughter Megan McGrath, and sister
Dorothy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob will be dearly missed, but will live in our
hearts forever
