My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mrs. Murphy during this difficult time. I met her through Charles (her son) in 2003 and became very close to her in a short time. She was wonderful to talk with and had so much wisdom. I admired what a wonderful cook she was and always enjoyed her delicious meals. Mrs. Murphy will hold a place in my heart. She always reminded me that I was like "family" to her and that meant a lot to me. I pray that Charles, Dan, Maggie, Don, Laura, Dave, Karen and their children will find peace in knowing that Mrs. Murphy is in heaven with her husband.

We Murphy's have always had a very special relationship through the years. All of our 3rd generation Murphy's were double first cousins giving Holy Redeemer High School in Freeport, NY a run for their money. We, in the 4th generation, grew up as close with each other as our parents could get us. This was the backbone of some of the most amazing memories fr us as children. I will never forget Lou. Lou, to me, was more than just kind and fun she was the kind of beauty that left a mark in your heart and soul. Always impeccably made up it left the little girl in me interested in how makeup and hair styling enhanced the already natural beauty. It was almost like she could walk on water. I loved her. I admired her. I wanted to be like her in many ways. As the families grew in numbers so did the distance between us. The distance didn't ever diminish my memories of her nor did it make me think of her less often. She was a gem, pure love in every sense of the word. Her family ~ every single one of them ~ meant the world to her and it showed. She will surely be missed but the fact that she's with her beloved husband and loving daughter isn't lost on me. I pray she rests in sweet peace and my thoughts and prayers are for all who mourn. May the Lord envelope you all with his grace, peace and love! She may be gone but will never be forgotten! <3
