Obituary of Celeste E. Mecabe
Please share a memory of Celeste to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MECABE, Celeste was reunited with her beloved Bob on Dec. 17, 2017. Celeste began her life in 1931 in Brooklyn, NY along with her 7 siblings. Celeste's artistic eye fueled her imagination and sparked her creativity. She was able to share her talent while working as a window dresser for F.W. Woolworth. It was there that Bob met his "Million Dollar Baby at the 5 & 10 Cent Store." They were married in 1949 and remained inseparable until his death in 2011.
Bob and Celeste settled in Glendale, NY where they raised their family until their retirement to Spring Hill, FL. Celeste will forever be in the hearts of her loving daughters and their husbands, Celeste & Bob Stucchio, Debbie & Mike Demonte and Laura & Joe Fasano. She is lovingly remembered by her 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
The family will welcome family & friends Thursday, 12/21 from 2-4 and 7-9 at N.F. Walker Funeral Home, Merrick, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 12/22 11:00am at Cure' of Ars R.C. Church, 2323 Merrick Ave., Merrick, NY 11566.
.
Much of Celeste's extraordinary strength came from her extraordinary faith. She taught her girls to "Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always." She was a faithful wife and selfless mother. She Loved ~
